"When Is A Video Game Console Considered 

To Be Retro?"

 

It's a question we see pop up on Twitter and video games Forums from time to time and it got us thinking of how retrogaming could potentially be defined.


So, we've had a go at creating The Games Freezer Retronometer….
 

This is not an exact science so we are open to amendment and opinion but this is how we see it……
 

There are 5 points on the Games Freezer Retronometer scale.
 

5 being Retrogaming Classic

1 being Recent / Current Consoles

This has got to be the late 70's early 80's machines such as Atari 2600, Magnavox Odyssey, Atari 5200 etc

Retrogaming, Games Freezer, Retro Gamer

 4 Retrogaming Tape Systems


Retrogaming systems such as the Spectrum ZX, Commodore 64, Amstrad CPC etc
Retrogaming, Games Freezer, Retro Gamer

3 Retrogaming 80's & 90's Cartridge Giants

These include such beauties as Nintendo Entertainment System, SEGA Master System, Super Nintendo, Megadrive / Genesis

2 Non Retrogaming CD Era Giants


These include PS1, XBOX, PS2 and the Cartidge rebel N64!
