Games Freezer has been informed that EGX Rezzed will return to London
from Thursday 7th to Saturday 9th April, 2016.
I attended the immensely successful EGX show in March and was one of the 12,000 attendees who got the chance to play upwards of 150 games from over 100 exhibitors!
EGX Rezzed will be returning to its new home at the Tobacco Dock after Visitor feedback on the venue and show was seen to be exceptional.
“This year’s EGX Rezzed provided the most positive feedback of any Rezzed show”, said David Lilley, Managing Director of Gamer Events.
“Consumers enjoyed the discovery of a new and fascinating venue. Developers enjoyed the opportunity to either customise their own dedicated space or create a zone together with other indies. One room alone featured over 45 games”.
I found the Tobacco Dock venue to be perfect for a relatively intimate games show as there were plenty of nooks and crannies to explore as you began to unearth the video games gems of the future.
I had hoped that it would return to Tobacco Dock and it would appear that my dreams have come true........
The other exciting news is that BAFTA will renew its close partnership with EGX in 2016 with the British Academy Games Awards taking place on the first day of EGX. Hopefully i'll get an invite this year so I can make use of the tuxedo I bought for this years ceremony!
Harvey Elliott, Chairman of BAFTA’s Games Committee, said:
"There would be no games industry without the passion and dedication of our players and it makes perfect sense to host our awards and event activity in tandem with EGX Rezzed for 2016. As our industry demands increasing levels of engagement with the public when making and updating our games, it seems only fitting for BAFTA to celebrate the creative excellence within games with the public too".
Tickets for EGX Rezzed 2016 will go on sale later this year.
Games Freezer will also be attending the next great EGX Event in September this year.
It runs from 24-27 September and this year’s EGX at the Birmingham NEC will be the UK’s largest EVER video games event!

There will be upwards of 80,000 attendees and the show will feature high profile game announcements, playable PC, console and indie games, retro games, developer sessions from leading industry spokespeople and its own GamesIndustry Fair.
