Is That A Gameboy I Spy?!
The story of Pixel Ripped revolves around an avid video gamer, Nicola, who is struggling to play her favourite games on a GameBoy looking handheld console in the year 1989.
Nicola is tasked with defeating the distractions of her day so she can get on with playing video games in school and not getting caught!
Pixel Ripped 1989 is a game within a game and aims to immerse gamers in the world of videogames like never before.
Let's Do The Time Warp Again
Creator and Pie Maker Ana Ribeiro from Brazil also envisages this to be the first in a series of Pixel Ripped adventures.
The development team have plans for Nicola that would see her travel through time to play video games from different eras of history. From Pong in 1979 through to the colourful sprites of the SNES and Megadrive in 90’s and early noughties.

Stef Keegan, Producer of Pixel Ripped highlighted what it would mean if the Kickstarter was a success,
“Getting this investment would really turn things around for us,not only would it provide us with the funds to progress the game, but I hope it would give us a substantial enough reason for the UK government to let Ana stay in the UK!”
End Of Level Bosses A Plenty
The team have already overcome many end of level bosses in their first year of production. Starting with a lack of funding onto a continued battle to renew Ana Ribeiro’s visa!
With a vocal community behind the Pixel Ripped 1989 project, Ana and the team have high hopes for the campaign and launched the Kickstarter on 14th July, 2015.
