While listening this morning to episode 114 which was dedicated to the NES I stumbled across two cool NES revelations that I was totally unaware of.......
Maybe revelation is a strong word but these two snippets of information made me want to pick up a NES control pad and try these immediately.
Player 2 Sabotage
Super Mario Bros - NES
Now this one must have been borne out of a frustrated sibling sitting there watching their brother or sister play Super Mario Bros.
It turns out that if you plug in Player 2's pad and press PAUSE mid Mario jump then UN-PAUSE, Mario will lose all his mid air momentum. Time it right and your best mate / brother / sister will plummet into a nice hole and maybe it will be your go next.......then again maybe not!
Duck Controller
Duck Hunt - NES
This one is pretty cool as it is something I never once knew was possible in the granddaddy of Light Gun / Zapper Games.
Plug in Player 2's pad and you can control the flight of the ducks while Player 1 attempts to shoot those critters down!
How cool is that?!
Now you will have to excuse me as I have some Mario 1Up's to use up and some Ducks to control!
