I've recently started listening to the cool Retrogaming Podcast called the Retro Asylum....

You may have heard of it as the dudes who present the podcast really know their stuff.

Whilst listening on my way home on Friday I was given a really awesome tip that i'd never heard before and i'm really surprised that I didn't already know this.
Backwards compatibility is quite topical right now and this little nugget of information that I got isn't exactly hot off the press but to me it's very surprising.

When I purchased my PS3 I was fully aware that my PS2 games were not compatible with it which really annoyed me as I have a heap of great PS2 games that i'd love to play through HDMI. But alas it was not meant to be.

What I didn't know (until Friday) was that PS1 games ARE compatible with my PS3!!

How have I never heard this before!!??

Do you already know this little tip?

I own a PS1 but it's not hooked up to play immediately so my PS1 games seem to just gather dust in my video games cupboard......

Now that I know this nugget of backwards compatibility awesomeness my PS1 catalogue has been opened back up for me and I can't wait to get involved again with some of my faves from back in the day...

First Up For Me Is Final Fantasy VII

If You Could Play One PS1 Game Today Which Awesome Game Would YOU Choose?
