So as we prepare to say a video games goodbye to 2017 it’s naturally time to look forward to 2018 and the video games that are going to be coming our way.
2017 has been considered one of the finest years in video games history with the release of the Nintendo Switch garnering us with two of the best games of recent history. Alongside that we had an Indie Gaming year of exceptional quality with some amazing games landing in the Games freezer!
So what’s coming our way next year in 2018?
1. Steel Rats
What type of game is it?
A motorcycle action game. A 2.5D game with a retro-futuristic art style defined as “Dieselpunk” which is inspired by 1940’s and 50’s Americana.
What’s it all about?
The Steel Rats are defending their hometown of Coastal City against an invading army of junkbots.
2. Vampyr
What type of game is it?
It’s an action role playing game set in a 20th Century gothic style London.
What’s it all about?
You are a doctor by day and a vampire by night who is required to learn about his victims in order to hunt them effectively and feast on them to survive.
3. A WAY OUT
What type of game is it?
An action adventure game which focuses on the use of local or online co-op only with no single player option available.
What’s it all about?
Players control Leo and Vincent who are convicted prisoners who must break and go on the run! Players need to cooperate with each other in order to progress through the game
4. UFO 50
What type of game is it?
UFO 50 is a collection of 50 single and multiplayer games from the creators of Spelunky, Downwell, Time Barons, Skorpulac, and Madhouse.
What’s it all about?
A variety of genres, from platformers and shoot 'em ups to puzzle games and RPGs with a familiar retro gaming 8-bit aesthetic with new ideas and modern game design sensibilities.
5. System Shock
What type of game is it?
Think of BioShock and imagine the game that inspired BioShock and then you’ve got System Shock.
What’s it all about?
This is a remake/reboot of the original System Shock which is cited as a massive influence to so many games that have been made since the original System Shock.
In System Shock, you’ll take on the role of a hacker as you explore the Citadel Station and unravel the mystery of what is going on...
