🤓📘 Book Review: The Nostalgia Nerd’s Retro Tech “Computers, Consoles & Games” 📘🤓 #Retrogaming @NostalNerd

How much do you love video games, computers and consoles?

Do you obsess over the great tech from years gone by and reminisce over the legendary video games that you played as child through your teenage years and now still play those games in adulthood?

Chances are then you’ve heard of a certain guy called the Nostalgia Nerd aka Peter Leigh.

Peter runs the successful YouTube Channel (Nostalgia Nerd) and has over 200,000 subscribers to his channel that centres on Peter’s addiction to Nostalgia & things often categorised as "nerdy".

Peter talks about software, hardware, games, toys, programs, magazines and other things from the 70s, 80s and 90s.

Therefore Peter is regarded as a respected voice in the retro gaming community and someone who has one of the most entertaining YouTube Channel’s on the internet.

Naturally Peter’s wealth of retro gaming knowledge will lend itself well to documenting that knowledge in book form and that’s exactly what we get with The Nostalgia Nerd’s Retro Tech book.
This book has been crafted with love for its subject matter and looks to cover the most significant console, computer and video games releases right up until the original Microsoft XBOX console.

Each console or computer is carefully photographed and displayed with some history on the console and a fact sheet detailing information such as CPU, Colours, RAM, Release Date, Launch Market and Price. It’s a great reference guide for any retrogaming enthusiast who loves to learn about the history of their beloved hobby.

The part of the book that really sets it apart from the crowd is the page that details 3 video games for each of the platforms that are discussed and gives you an insight into a “Must See” game, a “Must Play” game and a “Must Avoid” game. It’s a great concept and it’s actually inspired me to work through the book and do a video on each of the “Must” games per console and computer.
The Must See games are the ones that really pushed the boundaries of the systems hardware. The Must Play games are the ones that you simply have to play if you get the chance and obviously the Must Avoid category are the games to expertly sidestep (unless your covering the worst games on a particular platform).

I have the hardback version and it feels lovely in the hand and is a perfect size to stash in your rucksack if your going on a journey where you’ll get the chance to dip into this awesome compendium retro gaming information and opinion.

If you get a chance pick this little gem up or put it on your wishlist, it’s definitely a keeper!

Right i’m off to learn about the Mattell Intellivision’s visionary Online Capabilities….
