With so many choices on the market for the myriad gaming / PC peripherals, sometimes it comes down to customisation, which is something that the GXT980 has in spades, with a switch on the bottom of the mouse allowing you to adjust the smoothness to exactly what you require for the task at hand.
The ability to flick the RGB lights on and off also adds slightly to the battery life, handy for squeezing some extra juice out of the already impressive 50-hour battery time.
That said, even when plugged in for the three-hour full recharge on the supplied USB-C cable, the heavyweight braided cable is robust and flexible enough to not ‘tug’ or displace the mouse when plugged in and in use– as some other cables/mice I’ve encountered in the past tend to do.
