Peppa Pig: World Adventures (mini) Xbox Review 7.5/10 "Peppa Goes Global" 🐷 @Outright_Games #IndieGames #VideoGamesForKids #GameDev

Publisher Outright Games’ releases have had such a joyful impact on my 2-year-old that I actually sent them an email of thanks a few months ago. This new release continues the theme of incredibly accessible games with visuals and tonality that accurately reflects the franchise on which they are based, turning them into interactive experiences for all the family.

Feeling like a sequel to the previous Peppa Pig console game, Peppa Pig: World Adventures takes Peppa from the more local locations such as Windy Castle, family homes, schools, and the beach to exotic locations across the world.

Selectable from a travel board next to a huge, docked boat (genuinely quite impressive, in-game!), in each place, you can join in some local fun, such as eating pizza in Italy or perhaps painting in Paris, etc. all of which is controlled through pressing either left/right and the ‘A’ button.

The game also features a character creation model that subtly allows for all variations of home life; such as mixed-gender families; single-parent family units; and parents of the same gender - it’s well-implemented into the game so that most situations are catered for, and I make a heck of a handsome giraffe, let me tell you.

Being very much a game aimed at children, this simple control scheme works perfectly and really makes the child feel part of Peppa’s world, the visuals are a perfect representation of the show, and some of the main voice cast return to breathe life into these familiar characters.

If your child enjoys Peppa Pig – and mine certainly does – it’s great to see them getting to grips with the controller and following the simple on-screen prompts to make things happen on-screen, and possibly even more exciting for me as a gamer-parent, watching my son take his first steps into the big wide world of gaming. Elder Scrolls on Nightmare mode next for him, methinks.

SUMMARY

A game that will probably be too basic for older children, but perfect for the pre-school crowd, Peppa Pig is a bright, colourful, and wonderfully realised video game version of the hit kids' show.

It’s an accessible game that makes for great interaction between parent and child, and another fun release from outright Games, fun stuff for the little ones out there!
