Dredge Pale Reach DLC Review
I recently revisited a game that I love by trying out its newest DLC, Pale Reach. A quick recap of Dredge - you play the role of a sailor exploring local islands and fishing. However, this area is filled with strange and mysterious creatures, which gives the game a Lovecraftian feel. You embark on a new adventure by sailing towards the question mark that's located on the southern side of the map. Once you arrive, you'll be greeted with a new frosty area that's filled with excitement and adventure. This new DLC expansion is packed with new fish and Lovecraftian monsters that will keep you thrilled throughout the game. The DLC also includes additional rods, nets, and a new boat attachment that will take your gaming experience to the next level.
Dredge Pale Reach DLC Review
The ambient sound work in this expansion is nothing short of amazing. You can hear the faint sound of ice breaking and even the occasional heartbeat from the monster living within the ice. As you explore the new area, you'll come across notes and items that reveal a new story, but be warned, you'll also be hunted down by a new creature lurking under the ice that hunts both at night and during the day. You must stay sharp and be on your guard at all times. However, this initial excitement wears out quite quickly, and the area is quite small, so you can explore it within an hour and to reach 100% completion, it can take up to 2 hours.

I enjoyed revisiting the world of Dredge through this Pale Reach expansion and being able to resume from where I had left off. The art style is also very tasty and I loved discovering the new islands, and the addition of fear and cold in the game brought out the themes of greed and isolation very well, whilst he characters felt lonely and disconnected due to these themes.

SUMMARY
Although the story could have been longer and a bit more exciting towards the ending, I still recommend playing the DLC, especially if you enjoyed the original game. Pale Reach is worth a try and who knows? It may keep you hooked to the game long enough for possible future DLC releases.
