Based on a popular South Korean franchise, Uzzuzzu My Pet: Golf Dash takes visual, stylistic and gameplay cues from What the Golf?
But it unfortunately fails to capture the charm and replayability that oozes from every pore of the game that it apes.
Featuring over 60 levels, Uzzuzzu My Pet: Golf Dash begins as a wacky mini golf title but soon turns into seemingly random levels that vary hugely in quality, and are further hampered by clunky controls. I thoroughly enjoyed What the Golf? And the early stages of this game appeared to be riffing heavily from that title – but still promised colourful, zany fun.
I assumed I’d get enough value based purely on being such a fan of the charming gameplay in this niche genre of comedy / cartoon non-golf. Unfortunately, the tedious level design, extremely brief run time, and recycling of ideas mean that the handful of fun moments soon get lost in a deluge of mediocrity as you tediously try to get your current object over a small bridge, or find your way around some invisible obstacle due to dodgy collision detection.
SUMMARY
Add in the fact that is a game currently priced far beyond the entertainment that it offers, and it adds up to an experience that is hard to recommend for any age or skill level.
