Project 13 PS5 Review 7/10 “Has that plant always been there?” 🪴 @DRYBREAD_games #IndieGame #IndieGameDev #GameDev

Project 13 PS5 Review
I’ve never had an easier time describing a game as I have with Project 13 - you are in an asylum and by ‘an asylum’ I mean ‘one corridor within it’, which you walk down again, and again, and again and again…you get the drift. But, each time something may change and it’s your job to find out what.

There are 35 anomalies which can range from the obvious to quite subtle, so you have to examine the corridor with a fine-tooth comb. If you spot an anomaly, you have to pull down a lever and start again, simple.

Except, every time you get it correct a counter raises - get to 13? You've escaped, and are rewarded with freedom, get one wrong and the counter resets back to 0… and you start back over, that’s right, 13 anomalies in a row, or that comb is coming back out!
Project 13 PS5 Review
This really does create a great sense of paranoia, has that bin always been there? what about that plant? has that poster always said that? I really became paranoid by the last few stages, and completely questioned everything,

I developed a list in my head - which I think is a good strategy – and what tickled me about this was that one part of the list was ‘man wanking’ as one prisoner looked like he had his hands down his pants, so some free advice for all who play, always remember ‘poster, plant, poster, man wanking’.
Project 13 PS5 Review
This type of game really will be a love it or hate thing, as it is short and - by design – repetitive, but if you like a bit of a challenge and some horror thrown in, then this game is cheap and addictive.

The one criticism I do have (which I think most people will be on the hate side of) is the stupid bloody head bobble, get rid of it.

No game that has ever existed needs it, throw it on the scrap heap with light refraction puzzles, and water levels - do us gamers a huge favour.

SUMMARY
This was my first time playing a game like this, and although it was only one corridor, I felt like I had a good time with it.

Small niggles that can be easily corrected would improve this greatly, but if you want a fun couple of hours I don’t think you can go wrong with Project 13.
