Everyone has a different gaming setup, dependent on their home situation. Over the years, I’ve shifted from tiny bedrooms to living room gaming setups, bespoke gaming rooms, and back again. With wireless controllers, things are a little easier but having a PC mouse and keyboard setup is always a little cumbersome, pretty much tying you to a desk…until now…

Perfectly designed for couches and armchairs, the first thing that strikes you when the Couchmaster Cycon3 is removed from the incredibly well-packaged box is the heft and robustness of it. This isn’t a flimsy product that needs to be handled with kid gloves, it’s a weighty, solid unit with accessible ports and easy access for cable management purposes.There are also included cables that help in minimising the overall cables used during your setup, with the end result being just a single lead heading towards your PC, with the rest of the cabling tucked away neatly inside the Cycon3 unit. The RGB lighting can be customised, and the included instructions and details are all easy to get to grips with, ensuring a swift initial setup. The side cushions also have pockets on them to pop some extras in such as drinks, snacks etc – perfect for some seriously lengthy gaming sessions, meaning the only thing that you’ll need to concern yourself with are bathroom breaks!

There are also some strips included that allow you to stick down your keyboard and mouse pad – one of which is included within the box – to ensure that there’s no sliding around when getting up and shifting around during your sessions. This all ties together to make an ergonomic unit that is extremely practical and comfortable in usage, whilst also looking stylish due to the RGB lighting and sleek design. There are also some pretty cool accessories that can also be added to your purchase on the website, should you wish to pimp things out even further.

In terms of negatives, there are very few. Whilst the product is solid and well-designed, it isn’t a cheap product, and it is designed for a specific purpose – mouse and keyboard players that wish to game from a couch or armchair - whilst this isn’t a negative per se, I thought it worth mentioning due to its specificity. It’s also worth thinking about the storage situation when not in use..

The heart of the new Couchmaster CYCON³ is the HORIZONLIGHT lighting! The LED lighting integrated into the support can be conveniently controlled via a recessed touch control panel without the need to install additional software. In addition to selecting your favorite color and brightness, you can also set various effects and their speed.

The CYCON³ has a total of 5x fast USB 3.0 ports and a fast-charging USB-C port. The Couchmaster is connected to your computer or console via a single special cable that ensures a lag-free connection. The scope of delivery also includes a 30 watt plug-in power supply that provides sufficient power for all your USB devices.

As a matter of principle, Nerdytec makes no compromises when it comes to quality, using high-quality memory cold foam as the basis for the cushions. The cover is made of a robust microfiber fabric that feels almost like suede. In contrast, only fully recycled plastic is used for the topper.

From an ergonomic point of view, the Couchmaster® CYCON² is highly recommended.
