GXT 866 Torix Premium Mechanical Gaming Keyboard Review
A mechanical keyboard with an incredible level of customisation, only a slight tweak is needed by the user through the included software to make this a go-to keyboard for all purposes.

A full-size wired keyboard (although a wireless version is also available) with some of the best RGB lighting customisation I’ve ever seen – honestly, it was addictive to scroll through the settings – the Trust GXT Torix 866 very quickly became the keyboard I used for my daily tasks, although after a vital tweak involving key sensitivity.A tasteful keyboard with chunky, satisfying key-presses - although this is a mechanical keyboard, so its not the quietest when in use! – the sheer number of settings in the RGB lighting was astonishing, from water droplets through rainbow fades, patterns and generally everything that you could imagine in a lightshow, there absolutely will be something for everyone here.

Another point of interest is the volume control, which is a dial on the top-right of the keyboard just above the minus symbol on the numpad and was perfect for adjusting the volume on the go and adds character to the keyboard – pushing the dial in is an instant mute function, great for when someone is at the door or calls on your phone whilst you are in the middle of something.

So, yes – the keyboard looks and feels great, but there is a caveat in that the keys are initially incredibly sensitive, and I mean sensitive – I would say that a press of a key is registered if you push a key down even a quarter-press, this initially led to errors in my typing from accidental key brushes etc. luckily, the included software allows you to adjust the sensitivity, saving this from being a real issue.

That said, it’s worth bearing in mind if you work in large companies where software access is locked down, as – if you can’t adjust the keystroke sensitivity, you’ll either find yourself deleting accidental typing relatively regularly, or you will learn to be the most accurate typist in your office.

Another awesome product from Trust at an affordable price that doesn’t skimp on quality or presentation, awesome stuff.
