I decided it was about time I had a go at building my own arcade cabinet so at the start of lockdown armed with one sheet of wood and a Jigsaw I had a go. This is the result and while there's room for improvement I'm also happy with the outcome plus I enjoyed every moment of planning it and making it. Here's a link to the Instructables guide and the best video I found to help: Instructables Link: https://www.instructables.com/id/A-Super-Easy-Arcade-Machine-from-1-Sheet-of-Plywoo/ YouTube Video Link: https://youtu.be/tXZQoQT0CDU

Videogame, Retrogaming
There she is in all her glory

If you play a lot of Retrogames like we do it just feels right if you are grasping an arcade stick rather than a joypad.

We've always liked the idea of building our own custom joystick and now we can thanks to the cool guide from The Adafruit Learning System

GO PAC! GO!
If you don't have the cash to splash on a snazzy Mad Catz one then this is the guide for you.

This Arcade Stick is so cool it lets it connects wirelessly to your PC via a Bluetooth connection.

The engine room of the stick is the Bluefruit Bluetooth HID Keyboard Controller, which enables you to set up the stick as a Bluetooth keyboard .

The Arcade Stick casing is our favourite part as it uses a simple walnut box that's sold on Amazon. The box is just the right size to fit all of the components  inside and looks pretty darn stylish too when you see the finished article above.

Once finished the whole thing looks great!

Yes it's completely wireless, and can be paired to all sorts of bluetooth devices.

Meaning you can play your retro games on whatever device you choose.

Cool stuff eh! We want to go one step further with ours and create a Games Freezer stick that is painted white with The Freezer popping up on the front, so watch this space for the results of our attempt at this Retrogaming Stick Of Beauty.......

Will you be giving this Arcade stick Project a go?

Let us know how you get on and send us some pics to gamesfreezer@gmail.com
