Zool Redimensioned PS4 Review 8/10 "A Celebration of a Very Nineties Game" 🍬🍭 @WeAreSecretMode #IndieGames #GameDev

You must feel sorry for Zool, the Ninja from the Nth Dimension. He's fast, he's nimble, he's the star of his own 2D side-scroller... but he got introduced to the world right between the releases of Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Poor guy never stood a chance.

Despite not becoming a mascot for the entire industry and inspiring two Jim Carrey vehicles, Zool maintains a place in my heart and some small cult status among fans who didn't grow up with a Nintendo or Sega console. He wasn't Mario or Sonic, but he was ours.

Thirty years after his first title, Sumo Digital Academy (an internship based in Sheffield) has built a remarkably faithful remake, essentially presenting the game as it was with some welcome tweaks to the gameplay, a surprising number of visual options and some fun modes to give this very old, very short game a new lease of life.

Postal 4: No Regerts Review 1/10 "I tried... God help me I tried. " ❌ @RWSstudios #IndieGame #GameDev

I tried... God help me I tried.

Look I'm not a fussy gamer. Of course, if I'm spending £70 on a AAA title I'll want a bit of spit and polish but, like anyone, I'll always cut smaller, independent studios some slack. Arizona-based studio Running With Scissor is never going to have the resources or money to put out the next Elden Ring so I went into Postal 4: No Regerts with what I thought were appropriate expectations.

All you want from a game like this is some silly fun. If it's rough around the edges, even intentionally so, that's just part of the deal, maybe even part of the charm. So with that said...

Postal 4 is fucking awful.

Avengers Disassembled ⚡️

To the shock of no one, Crystal Dynamics has announced that future support for Marvel's Avengers will be coming to an end. No new content, no new story missions to wrap up the narrative, and no more heroes.

Thanos would be proud.

Marvel Snap | Mike's Love Letter πŸ’™ #MarvelSnap

When developers Second Dinner announced a new Marvel game featuring over 200 characters my tired heart skipped a beat, then when I realised it was a mobile card game… I died inside.

No, not the "card" bit, but the ‘mobile’ bit. If you've played any mobile games in the last five years you no doubt feel a pang of pain in the wallet at the sound of it. They all seem to be in a race to bankrupt you as quickly as possible.

To my delight, not only is that not the case with Marvel Snap but - cosmetics and bundles aside - its currency of credits and boosters is obtainable in-game.

πŸ¦‡πŸ•·️🦹 Top Ten Superhero Games (That Don't Have Batman or Spider-Man in the Title ) πŸ¦‡πŸ•·️🦹

With the decidedly iffy-looking Gotham Knights due for release in the coming weeks, we thought we'd take a look at some of the best games that the superhero genre has to offer.

We intended to showcase a diverse offering of titles but ended up with four Batman games and six Spiderman games. So to challenge ourselves we decided to make it spicy.

Not too spicy though, the original title of the article was "Top Ten Superhero Games That Don't Feature Batman or Spider-Man" but apparently Spider-Man is in everything even resembling a Marvel game and good Batman-free DC games simply don't exist.

So with all that said, here are our top ten Webhead and Caped Crusader Lite SuperHero games.

😼 Astro Aqua Kitty Nintendo Switch Review 7/10 "Mike, do you want to review Astro Aqua Kitty or Human Fall Flat?" "Oooh the cat one please!" πŸ™€ @TIKIPODltd #IndieGames #GameDev

Ever since Crash Bandicoot, I have had a rough relationship with games that look cute and friendly but are actually alarmingly difficult (cheers for the PTSD flashbacks Cuphead).

Astro Aqua Kitty is significantly less traumatising than those two but still offers a pretty hefty challenge and a surprisingly deep RPG system for a game about adorable cats in their adorable submarines.

On paper Sifu is simple. It's a third person brawler that has you fight your way through five levels, kill five bosses and avenge your slain family.
