🐲 Pang Man Part 36: A trip to the Pokémon Center DX 🐲 #Pokemon

Share This Post On Share to Facebook Share to Twitter Share This Post On
A couple of years ago I was lucky enough to visit the two Pokémon Centers (one in Skytree Town and one in Sunshine City) in Tokyo.

This year I wanted to make a return visit, so imagine my surprise when I found out that a third store had just opened!

The new store is called Pokémon Center Tokyo DX (I’m guessing the DX stands for deluxe) and is located next to Tokyo metro station.

Pang Man Part 32: Cool Collectibles, Pokémon Soft Drinks
Having had a tasty lunch in Soho on Christmas Eve, I decided I had best walk it off with a quick trip to Chinatown.
Unfortunately, it was at this point that the weather gods decided to bless us with a bit of heavy rain.
Seeking shelter, I huddled under a random shop canopy nearby. There was an internal debate in my mind over whether to wait out the rain or to brave the weather then and there, however, something out of the corner of my eye caught my attention.
It was the window display of the small food shop I was next to. Piled up on top of each other were some familiar characters. “Holy shit”, I thought to myself, “Pokémon!”

In a previous article, I covered a visit to the Pokémon Centre in Skytree,
(Pang Man Part 17) however for completeness, I thought it best to pay a quick visit to the only other Pokémon store in the city; the Pokémon Centre Mega Tokyo branch.

The two Sara Maese projects that really caught our video gaming eye were:

AND

These two projects really capture the essence of Sara's work and also portray a love for these two stalwarts of the Video Gaming world

First Up Take A Look At Mario & Friends With An Introduction From Sara Below:

"This personal project, made by the principal characters of the gaming series

Super Mario, was posed as a personal challenge.

I wanted to create a series of posters using only the main and characteristic colours

of each character - I added the white by myself - and simple geometric elements.

I didn’t want to use the pen or the pencil to draw something in  the posters,

I wanted to try myself and my ability to create something in a simple way.

That’s why some of the elements that appear in the posters are repeated in

others, I wanted to use them to build new scenes.

Thank you for your visit and I hope you enjoy taking a look at my project!"

Next Up Is "POKEMON STARTERS" With An Intro From Sara Below:

"For the release of the new Pokémon X/Y game I decided
to create a tribute for all of the starters Pokémon in the
game series.

Which one is your favorite?"

WOW! WHAT A TREAT EH!

We Absolutely Adore Sara's Amazing Work!

What's Your Favourite Piece?

We LOVE SHY GUY!!
