So...........

My laptop has packed up.........

Therefore I've gone back to basics as I write this post on my NEXUS 7 ......

Don't get me wrong, I love my Nexus but for some reason it doesn't feel right pulling a post together for Games Freezer using it and it also means I've got to use the Blogger app.......

which in my opinion is kind of derisory..... There, I've said it! I've dissed a Google app!!!! 
Anyway, back to the matter in hand, I would like to share with you my favourite retrogaming stories from the week so far.......

☆Fallout New Vegas - Game Diary 3 - "Are You A Lock Picker OR A Computer Hacker?" ☆ #GamersUnite

Share This Post On Share to Facebook Share to Twitter Share This Post On
Games Freezer, Fallout New Vegas

In Fallout the Lockpick and Computer Hacking skills are art-forms…

Lockpick requires a steady hand as you tease the Bobby Pin inside the lock and try and find the right sweet spot to get the lock to open.

The harder the lock the tougher the sweetspot is to find which will get you entry into the forbidden area.

Computer Hacking on the other hand is a test of logic and problem solving as you scan the words and characters for a clue to the terminal password.

Within the jumbled characters and words there are a number of brackets which ,when in the right order and selected, will take away a 'Dud' password or even replenish your guess allowance.

With the guess allowance set at 4 the Computer Hacking is tough nut to crack as you search for that elusive pword and a <> or a ( )

Once you have cracked the code you then get to view the forbidden information that was being concealed away or even sometimes that terminal will give you access to a particular door that you may not otherwise be able to open.

At the time when I'd decided that my ATARI 800 XE/XL home computer was no longer C☆☆L

(Oh how wrong was I!!??)

I got it into my head that I no longer wanted a games machine with a keyboard because everyone at school had a shiny new NES and were playing video games like Super Mario Bros, Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles and Castlevania!

I'm pretty sure that I too wanted,No, Needed! A NES......

Call us weird.......Go On Then Call Us Weird!!

BUT We Like Video Games Cases......

There we said it out loud.....it's not a fetish it's just that each video games case over the years has become a part of the video games system that it served character.

Over the years there has been some beauties but we feel that the video game case probably lost it's individuality after the PS1.

After that, video games cases just became generic Video Games CD Cases.

So let us parade some of our favourite video games cases from years gone by.

The cases and the iconic style of Box Art are what we are essentially appreciating here......

☆"Classic Amiga Version Of Defender Of The Crown Comes To Android"☆ @Cinemaware #Android #retrogaming #GamersUnite

Defender Of The Crown, Retrogmaing, Retro Gamer

We are big fans of the CinemaWare Video Games releases in the mid to late 80's.

Cinemaware brought atmospheric cinema-like video games to all manner of systems but the releases we remember most were those on the Commodore Amiga.

Such video games as IT Came From The Desert, King Of Chicago and todays featured video game Defender Of The Crown!

The Cinemaware games took their video games inspiration from the movies and Defender Of The Crown does so in the form of the classic swashbuckling movies such as Robin Hood (Good Old R.H Even Features In Game!)

Defender Of The Crown was the Elder Scrolls of it's time and set new standards in video games graphics and involving gameplay

So how have Cinemaware ported this beauty of a Video Game over to Android then?

☆The Absolute Beauty Of Positivity Towards Video Games☆ @ejwillingham #GamersUnite #Retrogaming

RetroGaming, Retro Gamer, Video Games

As I look back over my childhood I remember with immense fondness all those hours spent with my best friends playing Video Games and creating great memories.

I feel that the feeling towards Video Games is maybe swaying towards the positive arguments but there's still a massive way to go before Video Games are as acceptable as Films as a genuinely valid way to spend time whether you are 5 or 55.

The positives for me greatly outweigh the negatives and I feel the positives are more widely publicised now than ever before

(Although as I write this post, the lazy journalists at The Daily Mail are trying to drag Video Games under again

Fallout New Vegas, Video Games

With the Fallout series the game's central story is almost surplus to requirements when playing this marvellous, involving, all consuming RPG.

I tend to set out with the best intentions of taking another step forward with the unveiling of the storyline and yet I will more often than not get distracted by a battle or a side quest that will take me in totally the opposite direction.

The thing is, that is the beauty of an open world to explore to your hearts content…..

The creators of the Fallout New Vegas have created a landscape that is begging to be explored.

It's vast and it's open, so vast and open that sometimes you can walk for minutes without encountering anything!

In that scenario it makes your next encounter with someone or something even more memorable.

You also find yourself feeling glad to locate a moving white marker on your in game compass as you realise it's a friend rather than a red enemy marker.

It's these stumbled upon moments in the game that make it so worthwhile to play.

The GameBoy 25th Birthday Celebrations Keep On Going And Today We Look At The Worst Side Of The GameBoy Video Games Phenomenon..

As with any video games console release there will always be developers that try and jump on the gravy train by bringing out any old junk for the latest video games behemoth

More recently a phenomenon known as "shovelware" appeared due to the unprecedented sales success of the Nintendo Wii

This led to some awful bland generic games being released for the Nintendo Wii as it was a victim of its own success story!

Back in the days of the Nintendo GameBoy when it ruled the hand-held gaming land there were also some real stinkers that were released that were either just badly made or just an excuse to try and cash in on the success of the GameBoy fraternity and sometimes a bit of both.

We dug deep to find the stinkiest of these stinkers to bring back some GameBoy Nightmares from Nintendo Past…….

Here's what horrors we found lurking in the GameBoy undergrowth……

★★Take A Look At The Games Freezer Top 5 GameBoy Games From The Last 25 Years★★ #RetroGaming #GamersUnite

Share This Post On Share to Facebook Share to Twitter Share This Post On

So as we continue the GameBoy 25 Year Birthday celebrations and pay homage to the Grey Marvel that is the GameBoy, we begin to look back at the last 25 years worth of GameBoy games and pick out the cream of the crop.

There have been some absolute beauties that have harnessed the little box over these years in order to produce a great game from 4 shades of grey to provide a shaded LCD experience like no other before OR since!

The hardware was not powerful but despite the GameBoys technical limitations, amazing, addictive, endearing and sometimes complex games were produced that had gamers hooked from day 1 of the GameBoy's release in 1989

With that in mind, it's going to be hard to whittle the extensive Gameboy catalogue down to just 5.

In order to create our Top 5 we are only looking at games that could be played on the classic GameBoy as it's the Original GameBoy that’s 25 Years old and not its colour brother from another mother.

Anyway enough of all that, let's get on with this as we give you Games Freezer's Top 5 GameBoy games from the last 25 years!
