Video Games related Kickstarters are a plenty on Kickstarter but every now and again there’s a Kickstarter that pops its head above the parapet and demands to be taken notice of!
The Spectrum Next is one such Kickstarter that deserves your longing looks as it essentially is the next in the line of ZX Spectrum hardware.
It could have been called the ZX Spectrum +4 as it aims to stay true to the Spectrum lineage.
So what is this all about?
Let’s find out, shall we….?

☆ My Fave Platformer Video Games (Minus Super Mario) ☆ #retrogaming
Over the course of the last few days, I’ve been delving into Shu for the first time prior to its Vita release.
Last week I was getting stuck into Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap as it got its PS4 release.
This feels like a good time, therefore, to get misty eyed again for all the awesome platform video games that I have played over the years.
This time though I’m removing all Super Mario games as of course, the Mario franchise is the perfect example of platforming perfection.
So this list maybe should be entitled “If Super Mario Didn’t Exist”
Labels:
Amiga,
genesis,
ios,
Megadrive,
Platform games,
PS3,
PS4,
Retrogaming,
Sega,
SEGA Master System,
SNES,
Super Nintendo

☆ The SNES Mini Video Games Wishlist ☆ #Retrogaming
As the NES Classic production reaches an abrupt end, everyone in video games is left scratching their heads trying to work out why the heck Nintendo pulled the plug?!
The NES Mini / Classic had all the hallmarks of a barnstorming video games console success.
It was selling out in seconds as soon as stock came through the door and even into April it was still on a lot of gamers wish lists.
Fuelled by the end of NES Mini production the rumours of a SNES Classic by Nintendo are reaching a fever pitch and everyone’s favourite video games discussion at this moment in time is
“Which games will be included in the inevitable follow-up to the NES Classic?”

☆ "Trip The Video Game Lightgun Fantastic!" ☆ #Retrogaming
After hearing a video games discussion on the Giant Bomb Beast cast all about Lightguns it got me thinking about how today’s video games generally don’t necessitate the need for these cool peripherals and how over the years I have played with a fair few awesome lightguns.
Here just for you are my PERSONAL TOP 10 Lightguns that I have had the pleasure to play with…

☆ Review: Vive Le Roi "Meet The Narcoleptic Executioner!" - PC ☆ #GameDev
VIVE LE ROI - PC
Vive Le Roi is a stealth puzzle video game created by Sylvain Seccia
There aren’t too many games set during the French Revolution which sets this game apart from others of its ilk, it is also a port of a mobile game and although the stripped back gameplay does show its mobile roots, lovers of stealth puzzle games shouldn’t be put off as this is a solid little title.
Can I save King Louis XVI?
Will my knowledge of French history improve?
Why did the executioner get offered the job when he clearly suffers from narcolepsy?
Let’s find out.

I missed this video games related story from 5 years ago the first time round but I just came across it today as the story of the boy (Caine) came up on a news feed I subscribe to as he is now 5 years older and has gone on to bigger things already even though he's only 14 years old.

☆ An Alton Towers Arcade Games Surprise ☆ #Arcade
The Alton Towers Video Games Arcade is one of my favourite places to go in the UK as it has all the fun of the thrill rides going on around you and with that in mind you can also get some video games thrills at the same time.
I went to Alton Towers this Easter and was pleasantly surprised that there were actually still a good selection of decent arcade titles in the Alton Towers Video Games arcade.

☆ Review: Captain Kaon "Time To Buckle Up & Pray To The God Of Inertia!" - PC ☆ #GameDev
The developer at Engage Pixel previously worked at Creative Assembly, which you will be familiar with if you have ever played a Total War video game (they also created the mighty Stunt Car Racer on the Amiga back in 1989) this is Engage Pixel’s first title and they’ve created a great throwback to a very specific style of game that a lot of people may have missed out on the first time around.

☆ Video Games That Caught My Eye At EGX Rezzed 2017 ☆
I love EGX Rezzed, it’s such a cool chilled out video games occasion compared to the behemoth that is the all-conquering EGX in Birmingham!
It’s a great opportunity to try out some awesome new games primarily from the Indie Devs of this world but also from some of the bigger devs that are being attracted to this gamers paradise.
Pang Man was our main man at EGX Rezzed this year but I also got to spend some time at Rezzed and I was bowled over by this year's awesome selection of gaming treats.
