Roxy Raccoon’s Pinball Panic XBOX Review
My household is one that does enjoy flipping the flippers, and there’s always a handful of pinball games installed on our various consoles, should the need for some high score settin’ arise.

Roxy Raccoon’s Pinball Panic begins with a story involving a witch and her evil animal cohorts teleporting away, with Roxy following in pursuit – leading to a series of pinball challenges wherein a balled-up Roxy will need to bounce around myriad tables to collect all of the available gems in order to proceed.

Whilst the mechanics of the pinball game are solid enough – in that the game is quite smooth, tables have a lot going on, are varied and have decent physics – there’s a real loss of that level of care in all other aspects of the game.

In that the music feels stock and lacklustre, the sound bites are repetitive, flat, and irritating, and the menus are oddly finicky to navigate, with one never sure which option they’ve highlighted on screen in some cases.

There’s a fair bit of content here, with various game modes ranging from the campaign that is naturally the main ‘meat and potatoes’ of the game through to pinball-themed mini-games, with various unlockable customisation options along the way.

At the budget price point, this feels about right, but even then, the stock vibe of the menus, music and voice acting drags the better parts of the title down, that being the actual pinball.

SUMMARY

A fun enough game to play for a while, with the story, characters and mini-games acting as fun diversions for younger gamers, but this isn’t a game that you’ll be coming back to for more than a few sessions, I fear.
